Two Police Officers Acquitted in Case of Frenchman’s Death on Sofia Ring Road

Unknown perpetrators attempted to steal an ATM from a bank in the western Bulgarian city of Pernik by tying it with a metal rope and pulling it out of the wall with a minivan.
The incident happened around 4 am Monday, according to local police.
Police patrols from the Second City Precinct have arrived on the spot immediately and the scared thieves drove away. The minivan used in the theft is a Volkswagen Transporter, which was stolen Sunday night.
The police are on the lookout for the criminals.
This is the second attempt for an ATM robbery in Pernik in July. At beginning of the month and ATM at a store was blasted, but no money was stolen.
A Pernik resident was arrested recently and released on a bail of BGN 1 000.
