Wildfire in Bulgaria's Sakar Mountain Fully Tamed

The wildfire in the Sakar Mountain in southeastern Bulgaria has been extinguished in full after blazing for more than three days.
The flames broke out Thursday afternoon in a field located between the municipalities of Topolovgrad and Galabovo. They were triggered by a tractor which caught fire while working in the field.
The Chief of the Haskovo Regional Directorate of Fire Rescue and Protection of Population, Commissar Nikolay Valchev, informs that all teams and equipment that took part in the extinguishing effort have been removed from the location.
The monitoring and the control of the affected areas is now entirely in the hands of the forest rangers.
The exact dimensions and cost of damage are yet unknown and are expected to be assessed in the next few days.
Some 300 people (army servicemen, firefighters, forest rangers and volunteers), assisted by two helicopters, took part in battling the flames in an effort hampered by the high temperatures and mountainous terrain.
The blaze engulfed over 3 500 decares of land. No casualties or injuries have been reported.
