Chimimport AD, a Bulgarian holding with over 60 subsidiaries, has reportedly shown interest in purchasing the Bolshoye Savino Airport in Perm.

According to a Tuesday publication of Russian business daily Kommersant, which cites Viktor Basargin, Governor of the Perm region, the authorities plan to hold a tender for the sale of Bolshoe Savino at the end of 2012 and the beginning of 2013.

Basargin is quoted as saying that the Steering Committee of the Sheremetyevo International Airport and the Vnukovo Airport is also interested in the tender.

The Steering Committee was set up in April to supervise development of a unified Moscow aviation hub.

However, representatives of the two Moscow-based airports have rejected interest in the deal, according to Kommersant.

The announcement that the authorities of the Perm region were planning to sell the Bolshoye Savino Airport through competitive tendering came in mid-July 2012, with Russian conglomerates Basic Element and Renova listed as the potential candidates.

Under the current terms of the tender, the investor who wins the tender will have to build a terminal capable of servicing no less than 2 million passengers per year and to invest around RUB 4 B in the airport.

Kommerasnt notes that Chimimport is a Bulgarian industrial conglomerate controlling 60 subsidiaries in different sectors of the economy.

Investments in the aviation sector are carried out through Bulgarian Airways Group EAD, which controls Bulgaria Air and Lufthansa Technik, the Russian business daily adds.

According to Kommersant, the Chimimport holding is co-owner of the Kazan International Airport and the industrial conglomerate closed 2011 with a net profit of USD 61.2 M.
