Iran's state TV has posted a comment on its web site rejecting allegations by top Israeli statesmen, including PM Benjamin Netanyahu, that Iran organized the deadly attack against Israeli tourists in Bulgaria.
The bombing of a tourist bus at Bulgaria's Burgas airport has claimed the lives of 7 and left 32 others badly injured and hospitalized.
In the comment, the Iranian state TV channel described allegations that Iran stood behind the attack as "laughable" and "sensational."
It added that the allegations were plainly geared to discredit Iran and its allies such as Syria, at a time when tensions there are escalating, with heavy fighting going on in capital Damascus.
Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Ehud Barak, and Foreign Affairs Minister Avigdor Lieberman have all attributed the attack to Hezbollah or a similar organization, with Iran at the root.
Hezbollah has reportedly denied all involvement in the attack.
An official statement by Iran's government is not available yet.
