Two Spanish citizens and two Bulgarian nationals have been arrested in Spain for supposedly creating and tending two sizeable marijuana plantations near Malaga.

Spanish police have seized from the premises more than 6,400 marijuana plants, as well as 31 kg of dried marijuana ready for use.

The group of four had been spotted making regular morning and evening trips to two luxury houses in the Costa del Sol town of Estepona.

They regularly carried bags, which were later found to contain fertilizers and utensils used for tending the plants, and were coming bags with their clothes dirtied.

Police suspected that the four might be growing illegal plants and raided them on one of their trips, thus uncovering the two marijuana plantations.
