Surge in New Hotels, Restaurants, and Tech Startups in Bulgaria
The economic landscape of the country is experiencing a dynamic shift as new hotels, restaurants, and technology startups emerge at an unprecedented rate
All-inclusive offers should not be restricted only to Bulgaria's four- and five-star hotels, the country's Agriculture Minister Miroslav Naydenov has declared.
On Wednesday, Bulgarian Food Safety Agency CEO Yordan Voynov proposed hotels with three stars and less to be prohibited from offering all-inclusive packages for tourists.
Voynov also stated that hotels with three stars or less should have a capacity to feed their costumers corresponding with their bed capacity.
However, Naydenov has argued that hotels cannot be banned from offering all-inclusive packages as long as they comply with hygiene requirements.
Voynov believes a hotel that has a capacity is for 100 people should have a restaurant with the capacity to serve 60 people at once.
While the Agriculture Minister generally agrees with him, he reckons that hotel restaurants only need to be able to serve 50% of the hotel guests at once.
Elena Ivanova, chair of the Association of Sunny Beach Hotel Owners, has told the Bulgarian National Radio that the government cannot interfere with the tourism sector's products, since tourism is 100% private in Bulgaria.
