A BMW automobile, driven by a five-month pregnant woman, has crashed with an ambulance at a busy intersection of Bulgaria's capital Sofia Monday evening.
The head-on collision happened at the intersection of boulevards "Konstantin Velichkov" and "Slivnitsa" at 9 pm.
The driver has been sent to the hospital in a state of shock, but the fetus is safe and out of danger. Miraculously, all involved – the expecting mother, the male passenger in her car, the driver, the doctor and the elderly patient in the ambulance sustained only slight injuries.
Eyewitnesses say both drivers have been at fault. The expensive BMW automobile crossed the intersection on green, but at high speed, while the ambulance had the emergency lights on, but no warning sound, making the head-on unavoidable.
