Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has met with representatives of the Bulgarian community in Portugal, emphasizing on his government's success stories.
Borisov told the Bulgarian expats that his country's EU funds absorption would reach 45% by the end of 2012, claiming the percentage will be 85 in 2013.
"The beginning was difficult, but we are gaining momentum and the EU funds absorption is the best index for that," he pointed out.
He stated that his government has been actively constructing highways, investing in high-tech industries and tourism and fighting high-profile corruption.
According to Borisov, the aforementioned success stories have already attracted Bulgarian experts working abroad to return to their home country.
The Bulgarian PM witnessed the the consecration of the Bulgarian church St. Holy Mother of God in the town of Linda-a-Velha near Lisbon.
Borisov's visit to Portugal will include working meetings with Portugese President Anibal Cavaco Silva and PM Pedro Passos Coelho on Monday.
