The southern Bulgarian town of Saedinenie is electing its mayor at run-off Sunday.

63.16% of the 5 500 voters cast a ballot at first round one week ago.

The nominee of the ruling, center-right Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party, GERB, Sasho Dinchiyski, received only 19 votes more than the candidate of the opposition, left-wing Bulgarian Socialist Party, BSP, Georgi Rumenov.

19 polls are open in Saednienie and nearby villages Sunday.

The election had to be organized after a tragic incident in the fall of 2011 when the Mayor of Saedinenie, Evgeniy Marincheshki, died in a traffic accident.
