Direct flights between Bulgaria's second largest city of Plovdiv and Turkey's Bursa will be launched withing three months, according to Doychin Angelov, Director of Plovdiv's airport.

Angelov has discussed the project with Bursa Mayor Recep Altepe and representatives of Turkish airline carriers during his visit to Turkey, Darik radio informs.

According to Angelov, the Bursa municipality owns an airline carrier, Bursa Airlines. The company is to acquire five planes within the next two months.

The Bulgarian official has revealed that flights between Plovdiv and Istanbul are also planned, even thought the project is still in an early phase.
