Troubled Bulgarian Manchester United forward Dimitar Berbatov may be offered a lifeline by arch rival Liverpool, according to media reports.
Liverpool FC manager Kenny Dalglish is looking to beef up his Anfield attacking options and sees a move for the Bulgarian international as a viable option, British media reported.
The forward has extended his contract with United until the summer of 2013, but the team is reported to be willing to sell it for EUR 7-8 M even this year.
Recent Italian media reports said that Berbatov is a wanted player for Italian Lazio, but the club might find problematic Berbatov's request of a minimal salary of EUR 4 M per season.
A number of European teams, including Italy's Juventus, Germany's Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, French Paris Saint-Germain and Turkish Galatasaray, are said to have expressed interest in the Bulgarian player.
