Bulgarian Defense Minister Anyu Angelov has been asked to address the country's Parliament regarding Thursday's incident in which a MiG 29 fighter jet crashed.

The aircraft plummeted into a river earlier on Thursday between the southern villages of Tsarimir and Golyam Chardak near Plovdiv. The incident took place the Thracian Star 2012 exercise of the Bulgarian and US Air Forces.

The two pilots, Maj. Doychinov and Capt. Metodiev, catapulted out of the aircraft. Their lives are out of danger.

Angelov's parliamentary hearing will take place on Friday. Lawmakers with far-right Ataka demanded the Minister to address the Parliament already on Thursday, but parliamentary chair Tsetska Tsacheva explained that he was at the scene of the accident.
