Yanko Yankov, owner of Varna-based security company Spartak, was attacked Thursday evening as gunmen opened fire on his car.

The accident happened a little after 8 p.m. in the Troshevo residential district, according to reports of Dimitar Dimitrov, head of the District Police Directorate in Varna.

The tip-off for the shooting was given at 8.23 p.m. via the 112 emergency hotline.

The 38-year-old man got away unscathed.

Local police believe the assault was triggered by unsettled business matters.

On Friday morning, two suspects were arrested for the offence – 25-year-old S.S, the alleged shooter, and his accomplice, I.T.

Dimitar Dimitrov told journalists that the shooter and the victim had met before the accident but refused to disclose the occasion.

The investigation into the case continues.
