A Bulgarian man had shot and wounded his neighbor in the village of Gramada in the northwestern Vidin region after opening fire at stray dogs.

The news was reported Monday by the Vidin Regional Police Directorate.

K.K., 59, used his illegally owned hunting rifle to shoot at the dogs, but a bullet hit his 68-year-old neighbor, who had been standing in his own yard.

The victim is being listed in the Vidin hospital.

Police are investigating the shooting and pre-trial proceedings have been launched.
