Bulgaria's Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, congratulated Sunday the Roma community in the country on the occasion of the International Roma Day.
"Our responsibility as society and as an EU member State is greater than ever. We must offer a positive, practical, and stable contribution for the realization of a common European policy of integration of Roma people," Tsvetanov, who is the Chairman of the National Council for Partnership on Ethnic and Integration Issues, said.
According to him, the National Strategy of Republic of Bulgaria for Roma Integration in 2012 – 2020, already passed by the Parliament, is a strong expression of this political will.
The Minister pointed out that what is ahead now is tireless work, seeking the best solutions for complex problems and overcoming challenges.
Tsvetanov voiced certainty that all can be achieved through partnership with Roma NGOs and experts.
"Let's wish to all of us on this day of respect good partnership and collaboration, strength and faith in achieving the goals of integration policies, so that our society grows stronger and more stable," the Minister, who is also celebrating his birthday on this Palm Sunday, concluded.
