Bulgaria and Greece are the cheapest summer holiday options for Russians, said Tuesday Alexander Tugolukov, Executive Director of the Biblio Globus company.

In a statement at the international tourism exhibition MITT 2012 held in Moscow he explained that German tour operators had given up on Greece in 2012.

He specified that German travel agencies accounted for 40% of the tourism revenues of Greece, as well as for some 1 million tourists per year.

Tugolukov argued that this made Greeks offer bargain prices to Russian nationals in a bid to compete with Turkey and Spain.

The expert said that Bulgaria's advantages were the traditionally low hotel costs per night and the reduced prices of plane tickets.
