The governments of Bulgaria and Turkey are going to hold their first ever joint sitting on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, Bulgarian Cabinet's press service announced.
Turkey will be the fourth country, with which Bulgaria will have a joint Cabinet sitting, after similar sittings with the Cabinets of Greece in 2010, and Israel and Romania in 2011.
The joint sitting of the Cabinets led by Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan will be held in Ankara.
The Bulgarian Cabinet delegation will include Borisov, Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov, Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov, Transport Minister Ivaylo Moskovski, Regional Development Minister Lilyana Pavlova, Agriculture Minister Miroslav Naydenov, Labor Minister Totyu Mladenov, Culture Minister Vezhdi Rashidov, Environment Minister Nona Karadzhova, and Economy Minister nominee Delyan Dobrev.
The Bulgarian delegation will lay a wreath at the Mausoleum of the founder of the Turkish Republic Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, which will be followed by a meeting of the Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov with the Turkish President Abdullah Gul.
Later on Tuesday, the Bulgarian delegation will be welcomed with military honors by the Turkish PM Erdogan, and the two Cabinets will hold their joint sitting, followed by a formal dinner in honor of the Bulgarian guests.
No official information has been released about the matters of the talks of the joint sitting of the Bulgarian and Turkish governments but common infrastructure, road, and gas interconnection projects are expected to top the agenda.
The Turkish newspaper Hurriyet has emphasized Bulgaria's desire to complete the gas interconnection with Turkey that can be used to transfer natural gas from Azerbaijan via Turkey to Bulgaria.
