Sergey Stanishev, leader of the oppositional left-wing Bulgarian Socialist Party, has expectedly criticized the latest government reshuffle in which two key Ministers were axed.

Health Minister Stefan Konstantinov and Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Traicho Traikov were fired late on Thursday. Traikov's former Deputy, Delyan Dobrev, was appointed as a new Economy Minister on Friday, while Desislava Atanasova, an MP with the ruling centrist-right GERB, became the new Health Minister.

On Friday, Stanishev likened the reshuffle to "an exchange of pawns", which he believes does not alter the country's course and does not solve any problems.

The sacked Ministers are replaced by people who are part of the problem, according to the interim president of the Party of European Socialists.

Stanishev believes that Bulgaria's health care is in a state of complete collapse and that former Health Minister Stefan Konstantinov is responsible for the recent medication prices scandfal.

The left winger also criticized PM Boyko Borisov for not realizing that Economy Minister Traicho Traikov "has done nothing" for the economy.

In Stanishev's opinion, there has been no development on "key and basic energy projects for Bulgaria". He mentioned the Burgas-Alexandroupolis oil pipeline, the Belene nuclear power plant, the South Stream and Nabucco gas pipelines and the gas links with Romania and Greece.
