Bulgaria's Hristo Marinov has won the gold medal at the European Wrestling Championship in Belgrade.
Marinov celebrated the first gold victory for the Bulgarian team after defeating Damian Janikowski of Poland at the men's 84kg Greco-Roman wrestling final match at the European Championship on March 11, 2012.
Hristo Marinov was born on March 14, 1987 in the city of Stara Zagora. His personal coach is Stoyan Dobrev. Marinov is part of club Lovech.
In 2010 he became world champion in Moscow in 2011 and grabbed bronze at the European Championship in Dortmund. Marinov ranked fifth at the World championship in Guangzhou (China) in 2006-a, and also fifth at the European championship in 2007 in Sofia.
