The first scientific and technology park in Bulgaria will be built in the capital Sofia and will be located on what is known as The 4th Kilometer on "Tsarigradsko Shosse."

The value of the project is estimated at EUR 50 M and it will be financed by the EU Operational Program Competitiveness.

The news was announced by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Energy, Julieta Hubenova, cited by the Ministry's press center.

Economy and Energy Minister, Traicho Traikov, announced that in the next EU funds program period Bulgaria will build another 2-3 such parks while as early as 2012 applicants will be able to submit online their projects under the Competitiveness program.
