The level of water at Bulgaria's Danube town of Silistra has reached 634 cm, with a rise of 197 cm as compared to yesterday, it has been announced.

Bulgaria's Executive Agency for Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River has informed that inspections of the river are now carried out every hour instead of once every three hours as usual.

At the city of Ruse, the water level has decreased by 81 cm, reaching 319 cm.

Parts of the Danube river near Silistra were frozen on Sunday, causing difficulties for several vessels.
