Landmark Trial Begins: Former US President Trump Faces Criminal Charges
The first criminal trial against a former US president commences in a New York courtroom
The Bulgarian presidential office is facing serious problems with the legacy of former President, Georgi Parvanov, related to 600 award decrees.
The information was reported Monday by the Bulgarian "Trud" (Labor) daily, writing that there are 600 outstanding decrees for orders, left by Parvanov.
600 people must receive orders, but the budget of the presidential institution of about BGN 4.1 M is far from sufficient to realize these awards.
During Parvanov's term, the highest country State order "Stara Planina" was bestowed 40 to 50 times on average each year to deserving Bulgarians and foreigners – most often former Ambassadors in Sofia.
According to "Trud's" sources – the manufacturing of the order costs over BGN 4 000 each, which triggers a huge dilemma for the new president and his administration in how they are going to pay for the outstanding ones.
