A young Bulgarian man is listed in critical condition at the Sofia emergency hospital "Pirogov," after he threw himself on the subway tracks Sunday evening.

The news was reported by the hospital Monday.

S.R., 22, has numerous skull fractures and 5 broken ribs.

The incident happened at the "Vasil Levski" station, near the National Stadium with the same name. At the time when it happened, the man had been accompanied by his mother. He jumped suddenly at the moment the train was approaching the stop.

The mother told the investigators that her son had mental health problems.

Tapes from the subway security cameras show that the man jumped on his own and no one had pushed him.
