The Italian Serie A club S.S. Lazio will try to buy Manchester United's Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov, Italian media reports say.
Lazio is to try to get Berbatov over the sumer of 2012, Italian site Calciomercato has reported.
The conflicting rumors about Berbatov's future continue to rage even though United Manager Sir Alex Ferguson already declared that Manchester will activate the extension clause in the striker's contract, thus keeping him at least until the summer of 2013.
The Italian media point out that Berbatov's contract has not been extended yet, meaning that for the time being it is in force till the summer of 2012.
Berbatov's agent Emil Danchev has made it clear that his client does not wish to leave Manchester United.
According to Calciomercato, the other Rome-based club A.S. Roma might also try to get Berbatov, but Lazio seem more set on it in order to replace Miroslav Klose.
