Prime Minister Boyko Borisov issued another warning for Finance Minister Simeon Djankov over his injudicious remarks on healthcare reform in Bulgaria.

Borisov countered Djankov's claim that healthcare reform would probably be postponed for the next term in office of center-right ruling party GERB by saying that a lot of achievements had been made in the sector.

"The weaker a Finance Minister, the weaker a government, the better it is to have common European laws. The weaker a Finance Minister, the higher the VAT rate. The lower the VAT rate gets, the better the Finance Minister and, naturally, the Prime Minister," Borisov commented during a government session on Wednesday, according to reports of private TV station bTV.

One day later, Prime Minister Boyko Borisov castigated Finance Minister Simeon Djankov for leveling disapproving remarks at Agriculture Minister Miroslav Naydenov.

In a Thursday interview for the morning broadcast of private TV channel bTV, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Simeon Djankov yet again voiced his discontent with the work of Naydenov, implying that he may not stay in office long.

Borisov threatened that Djankov could be the first to go if he had indeed said "such nonsense" without consulting him.

He further accused the Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of sowing divisiveness in the parliamentary group of GERB.

"Djankov is stirring tension in the parliamentary group of GERB, which has a negative impact on the party, which, in its turn, has a negative impact on me. We are trying to remedy his errors, which is why I do not believe that he said this," Borisov declared.
