The series of car arsons in Bulgaria does not seem to be over yet, as three more vehicles have been torched, this time in the Black Sea city of Burgas.
In the wee hours of Friday, a Pegeout 406, a Ford Fusion and an Opel Vectra were torched in the Bratya Miladinovi residential district in Burgas, police authorities have confirmed. One of the vehicles has been completely burned down.
The police are to conduct further investigations concerning the cause of the accidents, according to dnevnik.bg.
The spate of car torchings, which began in end-November, has already resulted in close to 60 burnt vehicles in Sofia and other parts of the country.
Police authorities have suggested that the arsons were committed by several groups with different motives.
Some believe that the car arsons may be aiming to destabilize the cabinet of the ruling Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party, GERB.
On Thursday, the prosecution demanded that one of Sofia's car arson suspects, Radoslav Stoyanov, be re-arrested.
