Bulgaria: It's Christmas Day!

Sunday is December 25, Christmas Day, one of the two major holidays for Christians throughout the globe.

December 25 most Christians mark the birth of Jesus Christ, God become man, and savior of all people.

Old-style calendar Eastern Orthodox Churches, such as the Russian and Serbian, however mark Christmas January 7.

Solemn masses are held in churches across the globe, with Bulgarian Patriarch Maxim to hold a service in the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Sofia.

December 25 has turned to a major holiday for people across the world, casting off some of its religious significance and standing for friendship and family warmth.
