Former Czech President Vaclav Havel firmly believed that truth and love will win over lies and hatred, stated Bulgarian PM Boyko Borisov.

Borisov sent a letter of condolences Sunday to Czech PM Petr Necas on the passing away of Havel, famed Czech statesman and dissident.

"We all carry deep in us the memory of that fateful December 10, 1989 speech with which Havel broke the Prague Velvet Revolution," writes Bulgarian PM Borisov.

"We all carry deep in us the European spirit embodied in President Havel's bold words and thinking," adds Borisov.

In his letter, the Bulgarian PM explicitly thanks Havel, who he described as a "great European," to have helped return Eastern Europe at the heart of the continent in which it belongs.
