Two more cars have been set aflame in Bulgaria's capital Sofia, and one in nearby city of Pernik in the wee hours Sunday, in a string of arsons with up to now unrevealed motivation.

The cars in Sofia were torched in the Mladost and Voluyak neighborhoods, at opposite ends of the city.

Since end of November, mysterious perpetrators have set on fire 51 vehicles, in different neighborhoods, in some cases right next to police offices.

Wednesday the Sofia police arrested more than 60 people in connection with the arsons, but no clear links have been established for the majority of cases.

Bulgarian PM Boyko Borisov has suggested that the arsons have spread in part because of publicity they received in the Bulgarian media.
