Bulgaria is looking forward to developing strategic partnerships with Asian states, Bulgaria's President-elect Rosen Plevneliev told the ambassadors of Asian countries accredited in Sofia.
"I will fight for every single investment that can come to Bulgaria. For us, Asia is a strategic partner, with which we would like to work actively," Plevneliev told the Asian diplomats in the Bulgarian capital, as cited by the press center of the GERB party.
The Bulgarian President-elect, who is to assume his post in January 2012, believes that Bulgaria has undertaken crucial structural reports part of which have to do with infrastructure improvements.
He told the ambassadors of the Asian countries that Bulgaria is becoming a center of Southeastern Europe that has 60 million consumers within a 500-km reach outside of its borders.
"This is a grand potential that is to be developed," Plevneliev stated before the Asian diplomats.
He further promised that under his leadership the Bulgarian Presidency will be always open for the Asian countries.
