Croatia’s Tourism Faces Summer Slump Amid Record Prices and Visitor Decline
Croatia’s 2025 tourist season has delivered a stark warning about the country’s position in the Mediterranean travel market

In November, 2011, prices of basic food stables in Bulgaria are falling slightly with their wholesale price index being in the 0.5 – 3.4 range.
The data was released by the State Commission for Commodity Exchanges and Market Places.
In November, prices of flour, rice, and cooking oil were down by 3%; those of sugar, lentils, chicken meat and meat products – by 1.5%. Prices of milk and milk products kept their October levels, while eggs price was up nearly 6%.
Regarding prices of produce, those of greenhouse tomatoes and cucumbers were up by 40%-50%, peppers – by 12% to 22% (green and red), grape prices were also up by 50%.
Prices of citrus fruit (5%-14%), apples (3%), potatoes (28%), garlic (32%), and cabbage (24%) – all went down in November.
Compared to November 2010, prices of almost all food items went up – the largest increases were registered for the price of sugar (66%) and fish (32%); beans, rice, milk and milk products show a 10% price increase while prices of flour and cooking oil remained at their November 2010 levels.
On annual basis, prices of potatoes, garlic, peppers and cabbage dropped by 20%-30%, of citrus fruit, grapes, and apples – by 7%-10%, while those of greenhouse tomatoes and cucumbers went up by 10%, and of bananas – by 2%.
