Five cars were set on fire in Sofia's Mladost 1 and Mladost 2 residential districts Thursday night.

Despite the swift reaction of the local firefighters, the vehicles are badly damaged, news.bg informs.

A total of 12 cars had been set alight and burned down in the Mladost 2 and Mladost 3 residential districts the last two nights before the accident. The police are investigating the cases which have been probably caused by the same perpetrator.

The investigating authorities have so far found no connection between the owners of the vehicles.

Over the last month, over twenty cars have been set on fire in several of Sofia's residential districts, According to a local police official, new arsons may occur on Friday night.
