A second Bulgarian sumo wrestler has make a breakthrough in Japan, when Daniel Ivanov - Aoiyama made a brilliant showing in his first season in the elite Makuuchi division.
Aoiyama finished the season with 11 wins and only 4 losses, for which he got the individual "fighting spirit" award in the tournament.
Meanwhile, already established sumo wrestler Kaloyan Mahlyanov - Kotooshu defended his ozeki ranking (second-highest) in his 36th professional tournament.
Kotooshu finished with 9 wins and 6 losses, his standing being initially imperilled by a sustained injury.
25-year-old new Bulgarian sumo star Aoiyama ascended to the top Makuuchi division after just two tournaments.
According to official data by the Sumo Association, he is 190 cm tall and weighs 174 kg.
