Bulgaria's Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, much anticipated Thursday meeting with the business and the syndicate ended in less than one hour, after the later walked out, declaring the meeting illegally called.

Borisov chaired the meeting because the syndicates accused his Deputy and Finance Minister, Simeon Dajnkov of belligerent lies and demanded his resignation both as Minister and as Chair of the Three-Way Council.

The President of the Confederation of Independent Bulgarian Syndicates (KNSB), Plamen Dimitrov, says the meeting was scheduled at the last minute, not at least three days prior to the date, as required by law in order to allow enough time to prepare the agenda and send invitations.

KNSB and the Podkrepa (Support) Labor Confederation Podkrepa declared Sunday that they are quitting the Three-Way Council, which now has only representatives of the business and the cabinet. The move means an imminent failure in negotiations on all important social and economic issues the Council deals with.

The outrage of the syndicates stems from the much controversial and sudden increase of retirement age and eliminating years of service in determining wages of State servants – both brainchildren of Djankov.

The Chair of the National Podkrepa Strike Committee, Evgeniy Dushkov, and representatives of the major business associations were further present at the Council of Ministries building – from the Association of Industrial Capital in Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Industrial Association, the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Confederation of Employers and Industrials in Bulgaria.

Dushkov also said the meeting was convened in violation of the law.
