A shipment of 13.180 kg of cocaine has been captured by customs officers at the Kapitan-Adreevo border crossing on the Bulgarian-Turkish border.

The narcotics were found in secret compartments inside four suitcases owned by a 33-year-old Romanian citizen with initials K.G.

The man was entering Bulgaria from Turkey en route to Romania at about 10 am Wednesday when his car, a BMW X5, was inspected by the Bulgarian customs agents.

The Bulgarian Customs Agency press service said the secret compartments of the suitcases were made "extremely professionally"; each of the suitcases had more than 3 kg of cocaine in it.
