The level of bilateral partnership between the US FBI and the Bulgarian Interior Ministry is better than ever, according to FBI Director, Robert Mueller.

Mueller met in Washington DC Tuesday with the official Bulgarian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov.

The FBI Head stressed both countries can boast successful joint operations against organized, cyber and white collar crime, and success in countering international terrorism.

Mueller further praised the will of Bulgaria's cabinet to deal with corruption and stressed on the extreme importance of cyber security.

It also emerged during the meeting that the FBI Head will visit Bulgaria in December.

John Brennan, Chief Counterterrorism Advisor to President Barack Obama, extended personal praise to Tsvetanov, pointing out his strong contribution for the increase of trust between law enforcement authorities of the two countries.

Brennan voiced certainty about Bulgaria being a center and warrant of security in southeastern Europe and in the world as a whole.

Tsvetanov, on his part, reiterated for Bulgarian media the excellent partnership between the two countries in the security sector and the successful joint operations against international crime groups, dealing with illegal drug trafficking, cyber and financial crimes, human and weapons trafficking, murder plots, and corruption.

"Today, two years after my Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party (GERB) took office, and during my third working visit to the US, I can firmly declare that our assessment grows higher each time," the Minister stressed.
