The Bulgarian Parliament terminated on Friday the tenures of office of eight MPs of center-right ruling party GERB to allow them to assume office as mayors.

GERB had a total of 15 MPs competing for mayoral posts in Bulgaria's end-October local elections.

According to the official announcements of the respective municipal electoral commissions, GERB's MPs-turned-mayors are Zhivko Todorov (Stara Zagora), Ivan Aleksiev  (Pomorie), Atanas Kambitov (Blagoevgrad), Nikola Belishki (Panagyurishte), Georgi Ikonomov  (Bansko), Ivan Ivanov  (Sevlievo), Nikolay Melemov  (Smolyan) and Ivo Dimitrov  (Dimitrovgrad).

The youngest MP leaving Parliament is 30-year-old Zhivko Todorov, Mayor-Elect of Stara Zagora.
