Israel has been pointed by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan as a regional nuclear threat.

While the West may presume that Israel and its surrounding nations would be under threat from a nuclear-armed Iran, it is Israel that possesses nuclear weapons, Erdogan has pointed out, as cited by the Jerusalem Post.

"I right now see Israel as a threat for its region, because it has the atomic bomb," Erdogan has been quoted as saying.

Erdogan further reiterated that the diplomatic relations between Turkey and Israel would be restored once Tel Aviv comes forward with an apology and compensation to the families of the activists who lost their lives during Israel's deadly raid on the Mavi Marmara 2010 flotilla to Gaza.
