Hundreds Arrested as Americans Try to Occupy Wall Street

Some 700 protesters are estimated to have been arrested in New York in the "Occupy Wall Street" rally against the economic and financial situation in the country.

Protesters have expressed their outrage against what they see as an unfair financial system which has banks and other major financial institutions profit at the backs of regular working people.

The majority of arrests happened Saturday evening when protesters marched on the lanes of Brooklyn Bridge to Manhattan, blocking the traffic.

The loosely-organized Occupy Wall Street movement is launching to bring thousands to the financial heart of the US, where they would stay for weeks expressing their outrage at an immoral financial system and federal policy.
