Bulgaria: Brand New Energy Saving Light Bulbs Produced in Bulgaria

Bulgaria has produced its first compact fluorescent energy saving light bulbs that are said to have a lifespan of 12 000 hours, it has been announced.

The new light bulbs, produced under the Realux brand, reach their full brightness in 15 seconds, compared with 25-60 seconds for most models on the market, the bulbs' producers have told the Dnevnik daily.

The bulbs, which are expected to last 12 years if active 3 hours a day, are to be officially presented during Bulgaria's traditional Plovdiv international fair (September 26 – October 1).

The Realux brand is owned by the Balkan Trade Group, a company founded in 2003 that produces lamps and household goods (including wax candles and matches).

The products bearing the brand name Realux are manufactured on the territory of 3 countries (Bulgaria, Romania and Ukraine).
