Over 30 women, including actresses, models and prostitutes, have been recruited to attend Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's notorious "bunga-bunga" sex parties, Italian investigators have revealed.

More than 100,000 conversations and telephone calls have been intercepted by the investigators following a two-year probe into the allegations.

Many of the women involved "prostituted themselves" with the leader in return for cash and other gifts, the Daily Telegraph says.

A total of eight people have been charged with supplying prostitutes for the Prime Minister. The charges were made as investigators concluded an inquiry into a number of friends and associates of Berlusconi in the southern city of Bari, BBC informs.

Meanwhile, a new scandal broke out involving Berlusconi, as he was allegedly recorded using abusive remarks about German Chancellor Angela Merkel's looks.
