Bulgarian PM and center-right GERB party leader Boyko Borisov confirmed he is almost certain to run for the country's presidency in the next elections scheduled 2016.

At a press conference Sunday, GERB revealed it presidential tandem nominees for the upcoming October 23 presidential elections: Regional Development Minister Rosen Plevneliev for president and Justice Minister Margarita Popova for VP.

Over the past months, there have been heavy speculations that GERB's much-delayed nominee might actually be Bulgaria's PM Borisov.

Borisov himself has been generally evasive about the prospects of his running at this year's elections and forsaking the PM position.

In June he stated he well might run for the next presidential mandate, in 2016, after that qualifying his statement by saying he needs to get married first.

At the Sunday press conference Bulgaria's current PM reconfirmed his intention to run for president in 2016, asking journalists to stop pestering him with the question.
