Fourteen Charged Over Sofia Protest Clashes, Majority Remain in Custody

Bulgarian criminal police have uncovered and seized a laboratory for the production of synthetic drugs in central northern Bulgaria.
The lab, located in the village of Dermantsi in Lovech region, was furnished front-end equipment.
Police uncovered 75 liters of amphetamine basis and 400 liters of other precursors, in addition to 10 kg of ready amphetamines.
Three persons have been detained at the site of the laboratory. Upon the search of their residences, police discovered additional substances and equipment needed for the production of illegal drugs, as well as a heavy stockpile of ammunition.
A large-scale police operation involving the special unit “Cobra” is underway in Sofia’s Lyulin district, as well as at several other locations across the capital, according to NOVA sources.
