Over one hundred Bulgarian rangers are being sent off Monday with an official ceremony to Bosnia and Herzegovina on a peacekeeping mission.
The information was reported by the Bulgarian National Radio, BNR.
Lieutenant-colonel Dimitar Dimitrov is the Commander of the 12th Bulgarian contingent in the Althea operation.
The Bulgarian servicemen will be assigned tasks related to security and defense of the Butmir base, control of automobile and pedestrian traffic at its entrances and exits and of the building of the EUFOR and NATO headquarters.
The ceremony will be held at the army barracks in the southern city of Haskovo in the presence of the Joint Chief of Staff, General-lieutenant, Atanas Samandov, the Land Forces Commander, General-Major, Stefan Vasilev, and Deputy Defense Minister, Valentin Radev.
