A special commission is going to work on finding solutions for the problem with purification stations on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast.

The information was announced by Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, after a work session of the cabinet held over the weekend at the State residency Evsinograd, near the Black Sea capital Varna. He says there is even an idea to draft a special Bill for the construction of such stations.

Borisov, cited by the Bulgarian Standart (Standard) daily, информс the first step is to deal with the country's largest summer resort Sunny Beach where he had sent the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, Rosen Plevneliev, and Deputy PM and Finance Minister, Simeon Djankov, to assess the situation on the spot.

The resort's sewage is currently processed in the station of the coastal village of Ravda, but it does not have enough capacity and it must be expanded. A nearby, privately-owned pigsty, however, is said to interfere with the construction project. Borisov says the State is planning to by the pig farm.

Plevneliev and Djankov are to prepare a project for new purification stations all along the coastal line.

In June, the Minister of Environment and Waters, Nona Karadzhova said the Golden Sands resort near Varna and the coastal town of Sozopol in the south are in the most critical situation over the lack of purification stations.

"I cannot understand how they can pour concrete all over the coast for 20 years and never build a purification station," an indignant Borisov says.
