The Bulgarian national football team has hit rock bottom in qualifiers seedings, as it has now officially landed in pot 4 for the 2014 UEFA World Cup in Brazil.
Initially it was thought that the squad will make it to pot 3, but FIFA's latest rankings, published Wednesday, revealed that it had dropped two spots down.
On the other hand the rankings of Hungary, who is the European team just before Bulgaria, stays the same, which ends up with Hungary being the last team in pot 3, and Bulgaria the first team in pot 4.
This is the worst seeding that Bulgaria has got since the implementation of this practice by FIFA.
Besides Bulgaria, pot 4 also includes Romania, Georgia, Lithuania, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Austria and Poland.
According to the seeding the top European squads, which make up pot 1, are Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, England, Portugal, Italy, Croatia, Norway and Greece.
The Europe qualifiers for World Cup 2014 are to be played in 8 groups of 6 teams and one group of 5 teams. The 9 group winners will go to Brazil, the worst second team drops off, and the remaining 8 second teams will be playing off each other to fill a total of 13 European squads for the World Cup.
