Late Bulgarian rock legend Georgi Minchev was once again commemorated with a festival in the capital Sofia this weekend despite the rainy weather and in yet another proof that his rebel spirit will live forever.
Held for the tenth year in a row, the "Flower for Gosho" rock festival has long become a traditional annual event where rock bands and fans from all over the country gather together to remember Minchev and pay a tribute to his work.
The event is a weekend-long live performance music marathon in honor of one of Bulgaria's most beloved soul/blues/rock musicians Georgi Minchev, who died of brain cancer in February 2001.
Bands that once shared the stage with Minchev now teamed up with younger musicians who have been inspired by his work. Each of the twenty-two bands sang at least one of his songs and also performed some of their own music.
Hungarian rock band Turbo also took the stage in tribute to Minchev's timeless work.
The "Flower for Gosho" fest first took place several days after Minchev passed away and has been a tradition ever since.
Choosing the South Park to hold the venue is no coincidence either, for Minchev admitted in one of his last interviews that he loved being in fresh air among free-minded people.
