The condition of the newborn baby and the three adults injured in Thursday's hellish car crash in Bulgaria's Sofia remains critical, the staff of the emergency Pirogov hospital said Friday.

The four were seriously injured after a car and an ambulance crashed on the Todor Alexandrov Boulevard in Sofia early Thursday.

At four o'clock in the morning, the ambulance, carrying a pregnant woman who was giving birth, crossed a red traffic light and ran into a car driven by a young woman who had failed to hear the sirens because she had been playing music too loud, according to reports of bTV.

The newborn baby and the mother have been stabilized, but doctors are still fighting for their life, the Dnevnik daily report. The condition of the ambulance driver is said to be the most critical.
