The first natural gas will flow in the South Stream pipeline no later than end of 2015, stated Russian Ambassador to Bulgaria Yuriy Isakov.
In an interview for the Bulgarian National Radio, Isakov expressed optimism on all joint energy projects Bulgaria and Russia are discussing.
"At present all countries participating in South Stream, including Bulgaria, have agreed to the terms and we will have the project companies created in all of them by the end of 2011," said the Russian envoy.
"By the end of 2015 South Stream will be opened at a capacity of 16 B cubic meters of gas, to reach its full capacity of 63 B cub.m. by 2018," added he.
Isakov was also positive about the Belene NPP, which is currently undergoing an economic efficiency review by consultants HSBC.
Regarding the Burgas-Alexandroupolis oil pipeline, Isakov recalled that an environmental impact assessment is underway, but that according to him there are no grounds to believe that the pipe will be in breach of existing regulations.
