The 2 years of efforts of the Bulgarian cabinet against organized crime in the country has brought a complete insight into the nature and the composition of the criminal world, stated Bulgarian Minister of Interior Tsvetan Tsvetanov.

Speaking Tuesday at a briefing after a National Council at the Ministry of Interior, Tsvetanov summarized that during the two years since cabinet-formation in 2009 192 criminal group leaders have been charged.

The Ministry moreover has information about the personal composition of the underworld, which according to Tsvetanov consists of 1977 active individuals throughly known to the law enforcemnt organs.

The total number of leaders of organized groups of such criminal persons is estimated to be 250.

The Minister of Interior pointed out on the special significance of information exchange and coordinated actions with Bulgaria's European and Atlantic partners.

He also commented on improved relations between the police and the Prosecutor's Office, in which the latter is more and more satisfied with the quality of incriminatory evidence gathered by police.
